Camp Perry
Since 1927 Scouts and Scouters have been creating memories at Camp Perry. On the banks of the Arroyo Colorado, thousands of youth have gained from the quality programs offered over the years. Camp Perry is a place where memories are made; but it is also a camp with a future. It is our mission to provide you and your unit with the best possible outdoor Scouting experience. The following Council programs are offered at Camp Charles Perry:
- Summer Camp
- Winter Camp
- Cub Summer Family Adventure
- Cub Adventure Weekends
- Order of the Arrow Pow-Wow Weekend
- Council Camporee
- Leadership Training
- National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)
- Wood Badge
Camping for registered Cub Scout Packs, Troops, Venturing Crews and Sea Scout Ships is FREE for unit camping experiences. Please submit camp reservations using the link above and enjoy the wonders of one of the last natural areas in South Texas.
***Starting Spring 2021, registered Rio Grande Council families can now reserve Camp Perry for personal use at no cost. ***
(Be aware that use of any equipment or facilities than campsites will require additional fees, when applicable. Please check for availability of facilities, as some dates aren’t available due to use for council events).
Camping for Out of Council Cub Scout Packs, Troops and Venturing Crews is $20.00 per participant. Please submit camp reservations using the link above. Enjoy the wonders of one of the last natural areas in South Texas.

Camping for Non-B.S.A,, L.F.L. Youth or Church groups is subject to $20.00 fee per participant. Please submit camp reservations using the link above. All required forms and fees must be paid submitted two weeks prior to event. Please be aware Liability Insurance requirements must be met before using any camp privately owned by the Rio Grande Council, Inc., Boy Scouts of America. Use of Camp Perry facilities is made readily available to all campers at an additional operations cost.
BMX Bikes – $5.00 Per Person
Canoes – $5.00 Per Person
Units will be required to have minimum 1 person:
- BSA Lifeguard Certified
- BSA Safe Afloat Trained
- BSA Safe Swim Trained
Kayaks – $5.00 Per Person
Units will be required to have minimum 1 person:
- BSA Lifeguard Certified
- BSA Safe Afloat Trained
- BSA Safe Swim Trained
Archery Range – $5.00 per person
Units will be required to reserve and use BSA approved shooting sports equipment from Rio Grande Council office and have a minimum:
- (1) BSA Certified Archery Instructor
- (1) BSA Certified Range Safety Officer
Units may also choose to check Rio Grande Council Instructor availability with Shooting Sports Director – Narciso Cortez via email.
Rifle Range – $5.00 person
Units will be required to reserve and use BSA approved shooting sports equipment from Rio Grande Council office and have a minimum:
- (1) BSA Certified Rifle Instructor
- (1) BSA Certified Range Safety Officer
Units may also choose to check Rio Grande Council Instructor availability with Shooting Sports Director – Narciso Cortez via email.
Shotgun Range – $5.00 per person
Units will be required to reserve and use BSA approved shooting sports equipment from Rio Grande Council office and have a minimum:
- (1) BSA Certified Shotgun Instructor
- (1) BSA Certified Range Safety Officer
Units may also choose to check Rio Grande Council Instructor availability with Shooting Sports Director – Narciso Cortez via email.
Swimming Pool – $100.00
Use of the swimming pool requires minimum 1 person:
- BSA Lifeguard Certified
- Completed BSA Safe Afloat
- Completed BSA Safe Swim
Dining Hall – $100.00
Use of the Dining Hall requires campers to “Leave it better than you found it”. A/C will be preset prior to arrival.
DH Kitchen – $100.00
Use of the DH Kitchen requires campers to “Leave it better than you found it”. A/C will be preset prior to arrival.
Health & Fitness Building – $100.00
Use of the H&F building requires campers to “Leave it better than you found it”. A/C will be preset prior to arrival.
