Unit Leader
Unit leaders are registered members of Boy Scouts of American and 18+ whom help within Cub Scout or Scouts BSA. They can hold strong positions such as Committee Chairman, Cubmaster, and Scoutmaster. Supportive positions such as the Advancement Chair, Outdoor Activity Chair, Treasurer, and Fundraising Chair, which are vital roles that keep a unit functioning well overall.
Camp Master
The Camp Master Program was established to give scout units and individuals with specific skill sets the opportunity be apart of Camp Perry and Laguna Station’s improvement plan. Carpenters, Welders, Landscapers, Bicycle Repairman, Plumbers, Electricians, Painters. Whether you are a professional, enthusiast, or helpful as a scout should strive to be – can volunteer time to keeping camp in tip top shape!
Events
Programs is a general term used to describe the multitude of activities the Council plans throughout the year. These events are accomplished through several weeks of planning, training, preparation and eventually execution. We have many volunteers dedicating extensive man hours into creating each successful activity – whether it’s a one day Cub Camp, Camporee, weekend Cub Adventure, week long summer/winter camps. Teams are made up of committee members, hired or volunteered camp staff, trainers, and merit badge counselors. Many hands makes light work.
Training
In order for our Scouting program to be effective in building good character, outdoor skills, good citizenship, and conservation minded we must prepare our adult leaders first. Training allows for our adults to learn and work through many scenarios experienced while leading scouts and working with others. Council Trainers have a passion for teaching and passing on knowledge and skill to others.
Commissioner
New Leaders – commissioners are mentors and built in guides. Here to build knowledge and skill as they take on this new role.- Experienced Leaders – Commissioners are counselors and built-in HR dept. Here to listen and be your Council-Level representation.
Paparazzi Patrol
The Paparazzi Patrol’s job is to help improve our Council’s visual storytelling by taking and sharing great pictures and video of Scouts in action. These individuals will serve as “Council Photographers” at future scouting events such as Cub Adventure, Pow Wow , Camporee, Summer and Winter Camp.
Newsletter
Each month our Council newsletter is distributed to subscribed members throughout the Valley. Topics will vary between volunteer highlights, upcoming activities, official announcements and commissioner notes. We are currently looking for “Content Creators”. Are you a master storyteller with a gift for bringing stories to life through digital content? Are you organized and creative, with great project management abilities and passion for serving up the right content, at the right time, to the right person? Join the Newsletter Team!
Social Media
As a social media content volunteer, it is your task to create and post new Council specific content, connect with our scouting community, and analyze the success and performance of your social media campaigns. Currently we are using many platforms to include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. If you are guru in one or more platforms, consider joining this team so that we can share scouting with the world and share our council story.
Webmaster
We are looking for a skilled webmaster to manage our organization’s web presence. The webmaster will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring websites are functional, user-friendly, visually pleasing, and up-to-date. Our current site is still brand new and in the building process, so knowledgeable wordpress creators would be a great edition to the Webmaster team.
